Vicky Woodhouse

Senior Partner/ Head of Property

Vicky is a Solicitor based at our Sheffield Office, and is a Director and the Head of our Property department. Vicky has over 18 years of experience in commercial property and also deals with high value and complex residential property matters. Vicky is well known in the property industry in South Yorkshire, having been the head of department at two previous firms in South Yorkshire. Vicky obtained a law degree at the University in Sheffield and did her legal practice course at the College of Law in York.

In her spare time, Vicky enjoys spending time with her family and travelling around the world… when she is able to.

Vicky has experience in the following areas:

  • Landlord & tenant - to include leases, assignments, renewals, and all aspects of landlord and tenant work
  • Development work - to including site acquisition and plot sales, option agreements / conditional contracts/overage

Scott Mulligan

Partner

Scott heads up our newly opened Cheshire office and is our New Build Manager. Scott has a law degree from Leeds Beckett University. He is also a qualified Licensed Conveyancer with over 15 years of experience and specialises in residential and new build conveyancing. He has acted for private clients, property investors as well as both local and large national house builders. He is recommended by a number of mortgage brokers, estate agents and house builders to act for their clients due to his professional, friendly and efficient service. Scott has experience in the following areas of residential property: :

Georgina Fletcher

Partner

Georgina joined the firm originally as a Locum and loved the firm so much that she stayed and is now a Director. Georgina has over 24 years’ experience dealing with residential property matters.

As the firms HR Director, Georgina also deals with all staffing issues for the firm ensuring that our staff have a healthy work life balance. Georgina also deals with the management of the residential team ensuring that our client’s have the best possible experience during the course of their transaction.

In her spare time Georgina enjoys walking with friends and spending time with her grandchildren.

    Claire Strawford

    Director / Conveyancing Manager

    Claire joined the firm in May 2020 as a Director having spent 8 years at a local firm. Claire is also our Conveyancing Manager.

    Having 20 years’ experience in residential property, Claire is able to provide the best possible advice to our clients and deals with all varieties of property working including, sales, purchase, remortgages and complex residential transactions.

    As our conveyancing manager, it is Claire’s task to ensure that we meet all our regulatory obligations on a day-to-day basis and she supervisors the other members of our growing firm.

    Brad Whiteley

    Director

    Brad is a Director based at our Sheffield office and has over 17 years’ experience in dealing with all aspects of commercial and residential property matter. Brad started his career as an office junior at Keeble Hawson (now Knights) in Sheffield before moving to Irwin Mitchell where he undertook part of his Charter Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX) training.

    Together with assisting the firm on complex property transactions, Brad assists the Managing Partner with the Risk and Compliance for the firm ensuring that we adhere to our statutory obligations as a firm and ensuring that clients have the best possible experience when instructing the firm.

    In his spare time Brad enjoys keeping fit and spending time with his family. If Brad could live anywhere in the world, it would be Las Vegas!

    Jodie Mason

    Conveyancing Executive / Conveyancing Manager (Manchester Office)

    Jodie is a Conveyancer who joined the team earlier this year. Jodie has developed her experience over the last 5 years by dealing with numerous types of residential property transactions for areas all over the country. Jodie intends to extend her knowledge further by becoming a Licenced Conveyancer in the near future

    When not working, Jodie enjoys dining out in Local restaurants and taking long country walks with her two Pekingese.

    Typically, around 85% of Jodie’s time is spent dealing with the sale and purchase of freehold and leasehold property, but she also deals with matters such:

    • purchase of freehold reversion
    • transfer of equity
    • adverse possessions
    • right to buy transactions
    • unregistered land
    • trust deeds
    • the preparation of various deeds to rectify problems on existing deeds

    Conveyancing Executive

    Daria is a Conveyancer who joined the team in November 2021. Daria has a law degree from Leeds Beckett University and is currently working towards completing her final stages of becoming a Chartered Legal Executives.

    When not working, Daria enjoys keeping fit at the gym and spending time with her two Labradors .

    Karen Morrison

    Office Manager and Head of Accounts

    Karen joined the firm in 2014 and is AAT qualified. She is the head of our busy accounts department and our Office Manager. Karen ensures that the firm runs as smoothly as possible and we adhere to all our professional and regulatory obligations.

    In her spare time she loves going for long walks in the Cumbrian countryside with her family and socialising with friends

    Peter Birtles

    Director/Consultant

    Peter joined Hewitson and Harker in 1970 when the firm was run by Geoffrey B Harker as a newly qualified Solicitor and eventually he took over the practice where he remains to this day. He is an active member of STEP. He loves passing on his 50 years wealth of knowledge to the trainees and now practices law within his consultant role. In his spare time he loves to write poetry.
